Is artificial turf good for dogs?
Done right, it's the best dog surface there is: no mud, no dead spots, easy rinse-down. The key is a draining base and pet-rated infill — we build dog runs with both, plus antimicrobial infill for odor control.
How much does artificial turf cost installed?
Quality turf with proper base prep runs $14–$22 per square foot in the East Bay — a 600 sq ft lawn typically lands $8,500–$13,000. Cheaper quotes usually mean skipped base work, which is where turf fails.
Does turf get hot?
In full sun, yes — noticeably warmer than grass on hot days. Lighter-colored fibers and certain infills help. For west-facing yards we'll tell you honestly whether turf or a drought-tolerant planting is the better call.
